Speak out for what you believe in! We each have the responsibility to speak out and make our voices heard! Some are more comfortable speaking out others.
So for those of us who need an action plan…here goes:
Make a list of 10 things you could do to make your voice heard (ie call a phone in program, send an email, write a letter to the editor) I recently read one of the best Letters to the Editor in my local paper it was written by a boy in grade 6 who related his experience at We Day in Vancouver. In closing he said, ”Together WE CAN make a difference and as of today I’m working on it!” I have the piece tacked to the bulletin board my office.
Create a diary of what you’ve done including dates and details – If you do not get a response – try again – be assertive! Get something broadcast or published once a month (*hint you could start your own blog!)
“Unless someone like you cares a whole lot, nothing is going to get better. It’s not”. Dr. Seuss
