What does being on the Cyclebetes National Relay Team mean?
- You choose one of 5 regions on the Cross-Canada Relay
- Each Regions takes between 4 - 6 days to cover
- 6 riders will represent each of the 5 regions making up the 30 person team
- Two individuals ride the route at a time, either on solo bikes or in tandem, with four others following in the team's RV until a shift change.
- Riders will rotate shifts on hourly change-overs and at safe spots
- Each rider will be required to cycle approximately 100kms per day (more if you choose to bring your own bike). This will equate to 2 - 4 hours per day
- Each participant has the option of riding more then one region, however, your cost and fund-raising committment would be doubled
What are the requirements?
- The Cyclebetes National Relay Team was designed to continue a father's promise, cure juvenile diabetes. However, we understand that different participants will support different diabetes association. Let us know whether you would like your fund-raising dollars to support JDRF, CDA, or another recoginized diabetes charitable organization and we will be sure your dollars get ther.
- You will need to set up your personal donation profile page which can be used to assist you in achieving your fund-raising goal.
- As a team rider you will also be responsible for ensuring you are in the best cycling shape you can be. You do not have to be an elite or highly experience rider for this event. If you are committed to training over the spring and summer, you will be in great shape to enjoy this amazing opportunity.
- As a National Relay Team member, you will be required to fundraise $2,500
