Cyclebetes Ride Format

The MBS Cyclebetes 200 is a fully supported, non-competitive 200 km one-day bike ride. A 1km Family ride and a 100 km option are also available. Departure will be from Mikes Bike Shop in Dieppe @ 8 AM with a planned lunch stop around noon at about the 100 km mark. After lunch, the second part of the ride brings us back to Dieppe. If you're too tired to keep riding, you can hop in one of the support vehicles. If you decide to only do a portion of the 200 kms, that's OK also. You can ride as much of the 200 kms as you want.

Tentative route is the same as last year, to Sussex and back on secondary roads.

You should be able to maintain a 26-27 km/h average pace on a rolling or slightly hilly course. The pace will be slower on the uphills and a bit faster on the downhills and flats.

100% of proceeds go to JDRF to help find a cure for Juvenile Diabetes.

So, are you up to the challenge?

Registration is $10 plus a MINIMUM $60 tax-deductible donation to JDRF (or fund-raised amount) = $70 total OR MORE. Please note that this amount is a MINIMUM, we strongly encourage you to fundraise above and beyond this amount. All donations of $20 or more will be mailed a tax receipt from JDRF. Each rider registered on or before August 1st gets a $20 gift card from Mike's Bike Shop.

We'll also have a 1km family ride before leaving for the big ride at 8 am, so bring the whole family with their bikes and join us. There is no charge for the family ride but participants are encouraged to make a donation to JDRF. Family ride cyclists 12 and under will receive a free bicycle water bottle.

You should be able to maintain a 26-27 km/h average pace on a rolling or slightly hilly course. The pace will be slower on the uphills and a bit faster on the downhills and flats. For safety reasons, all riders need to stay mostly in the same pack. Stronger riders will be in front in order to let weaker riders to draft and keep up.
Here's the actual map if you care to see exactly where this great ride will take you!
